Making records. Breaking records.

Over 8 million tons of plastic pollute our oceans each year. So Bacardi and Lonely Whale teamed up to turn plastic straws into music. Using a state-of-the-art Snapchat Lens, we invited bar-goers to recycle their plastic straws. 60k+ of these straws were then collected, batched, ground up, and processed into the world’s first plastic records. These records featured a high-fidelity exclusive track from Anitta and Major Lazer called “Make it Hot”, - turning something that sucks, into something that slaps.
