A Twitter bot for good.

Over half of all Americans admit to making mean comments to strangers online. Cyberbullying is especially commonplace on Twitter due to the decentralized nature of the platform.

Our solution:

To drown out the hate on Twitter, we created @GoodnessBot, a Twitter bot that turns mean tweets into kind tweets. Simply reply to a nasty tweet with “@GoodnessBot” and it will send back a response tweet with the mean words replaced by kind words. Utilizing social listening tools, sentiment analysis, a custom NLP-based algorithm, and a rigorous manual semantic analysis methodology, we developed a simple, safe and effective way to identify and curb bullying on Twitter.
